Alice & Olivia F/W 2017 Presentation
On February 14th 2017 Stacey Bendet creative director for Alice & Olivia debuted the F/W 2017 collection as a presentation at the Highline Stages in NYC. Stacey was inspired after reading a novel by Salman Rushdie's called "The enchantress of Florence". A story of a woman attempting to command her own destiny in a man's world.
The presentation had a lovely and blissful vibe. The collection included her signature bold colors, prints, patterns and big sunglasses. Also featured were bombers, florals, glitz, feathers, velvet, denim and lace. I loved the patent leather skirts paired with combat boots, the dramatic bell sleeves, ruffled skirts and silk slip dresses. I found the printed coats to be amazing and I can see so many women sporting the sequin embellished mini skirts with the varsity jackets.
Stacey's new line was stunning and clearly inspired by the Italian allure and history. The entire presentation was just breathtaking and such a romantic exposition of the Italian renaissance. Stacey an outspoken feminist also featured a graphic tee to express a message "Be the change that you want to see in the world".
The presentation was brilliant! It was the perfect place to be on Valentines day. I found the collection to be soft, edgy, fierce yet feminine. The clothes were beautiful, wearable and there isn't one piece I wouldn't wear.
