Solange Knowles to be honored at the Parsons Benefit in New York City


The 70th annual Parsons Benefit ceremony will take over Pier Sixty in New York tomorrow night, to honor influential personalities in the creative industries, including the politically-engaged musician Solange Knowles.

On May 21, New York will play host to the 70th annual Parsons Benefit, presided over this year by Julie Gilhart, a fashion consultant who helped to create theLVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers. At the 70th ceremony, Marco Bizzari, President and CEO of Gucci,and Jose Neves, Founder and CEO of Farfetch, will be rewarded for their work in innovation and eco-responsibility. These two figures of the fashion world will be joined by Solange Knowles who will be honored for her political engagement and her contribution to the music and fashion industries, successor to last year’s artist-of-honor was Rihanna. Guests at the benefit will also be of the first to see new work by Parsons’ graduates, with all of the funds raised going towards benefiting the fashion school’s students.
